Educational Qualification: Any graduate having computer knowledge will be able to apply for this Common Written Examination for Clerk Recruitment in the participating organizations/banks of Institute of Banking Personnel Selection. In regards to the prescribed criteria of computer literacy, they must either have the subject of computer during school or college study or otherwise hold any specific diploma/certificate from recognized institute to be eligible.

As recruitment is held at State/UT level, it is necessary for the candidate to have proficiency in the official language of the state from which he/she is willing to apply and appear in the Interview to be conducted by participating banks.

Age Limit: The prescribed age limit for the IBPS Clerk Exam 2013-14 is 20-28 years as on 01-08-2013 and candidates must fulfill this requirement to be eligible. However, relaxation in upper age limit is available for different categories such as SC/ST/OBC/PWD etc. and details can be seen from official notification.

How to apply?


Candidates may apply through www.ibps.in which is the official and authorized website of Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). The online registration process will open as per the schedule listed above and candidates may approach accordingly. After successful completion of the online registration process, the candidate will have the option to download the IBPS Fee Payment Challan which can used to deposit the application fee offline at selected Banks.

Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD/EXSM category has to pay Rs.100/- only whereas all others must pay Rs.600/- towards application fee/Intimation Charges. In addition to offline fee payment using IBPS Recruitment Challan, applicants may also pay the fee online using credit/debit cards or netbanking.

IBPS Clerks CWE-III Written Exam Syllabus and Pattern


An objective type written examination with negative markings of 0.25 marks for wrong answers will be conducted towards the end of the year. This Common Written Examination will be of 200 marks comprising of the following papers:-

  • Reasoning
  • English Language
  • Numerical Ability
  • Computer Knowledge
  • General Awareness (with special reference to Banking Industry)

Each of the above papers will be carrying 40 marks and the questions will be asked in the exam in both English/Hindi language except for the English paper. Candidates will be able to avail 2 hours duration to answer the questions.
