Commissioner of Assam Transport has advertised for 100 post of Assistant Enforcement Inspector & Enforcement Checker. Read the details about this recruitment.

The Commissioner of Transport, Assam has recently issued a notification regarding a number of job vacancies that are available for the post of Enforcement Inspector as well as Enforcement Checker in the state. As per the available information, there are a total of 100 posts for which recruitment will be held and this includes 31 reserved posts for women candidates. The breakup of the vacancy for the above mentioned posts classified category-wise can be seen from the following table.

As seen above, the post of Assistant Enforcement Inspector & Enforcement Checker Recruitment in Assam Transport has 50 vacancies in each including the following number of seats for woman candidates as classified below.

The total number of vacancies as presented in the first table above are inclusive of these posts for women candidates. Subject to the approval of the Government, the number of posts may increase which shall be notified in the due course.

As for the eligibility criteria, it is mentioned in the advertisement that candidates between the age range of 18-38 years as on 1st day of January 2012 are eligible to apply subject to fulfillment of other criteria as prescribed by Commissioner of Transport for this Enforcement Inspector Recruitment in Assam.

To be eligible in terms of the educational qualification for Assistant Enforcement Inspector, candidates must be Higher Secondary passed or equivalent from any recognized board or university whereas the post of Enforcement Checker requires pass in HSLC from a recognized board to be eligible to apply.

Job in Assam Transport - How to apply?

Before applying, candidates must make sure that they meet the eligibility criteria as set above. Interested and eligible candidates may thus apply in standard form (published in Part IX of Assam Gazette) and submit their application complete in all respect along with all necessary documents to the District Transport Officer's office throughout the state in all working days upto the last date of submission i.e. 31st December 2012. The application must be submitted to the District Transport Office of the district from where the candidate desires to appear.

However, in case of candidates applying from Kamrup(M) district, application may be submitted to the District Transport Officer and Secretary, Regional Transport Authority, Kamrup, Betkchi, Guwahati for the Asstt. Enforcement Inspector post while the application for Enforcement Checker may be submitted to the office of District Transport Officer, Kamrup (Enforcement), Betkchi, Guwahati.

With regards to the above, be informed that applicants are allowed to apply for both the posts, if interested. They must however possess a valid registration in any Employment Exchange of the state to apply for this recruitment and the valid registration number should be indicated in the application with the attested copy of Employment Exchange Card enclosed alongwith the form. The applicants applying for any of the reserved category must furnish documentary evidence as attested copies from a Gazetted Officer. It is also necessary to furnish with the application a self-addressed envelope of the dimension 10" x 4 ^1/2" clearly indicating the name of the post on the top of the envelope in block letters.

Selection Procedure for Assam Transport Recruitment 2013

For selection process, there will be separate written examination and viva voce for both the two job positions. The date of this examination will be intimated later in the due course. The examination question paper for the Assistant Enforcement Inspector will be of Class XII standard and for the Enforcement Checker post will be of Class X standard and will include questions on the subject matter of General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Mathematics and the medium of the examination will be English only. Marks of the competitive exam and viva-voce will be in the order - English: 35, GK: 35, Maths: 30 and Viva Voce: 50 15*.

The following documents is to be submitted while applying:-

  • 3 (Three) passport size photograph duly signed by the candidate and indicating their full name on the backside of the photograph.
  • Attested copy of age proof certificate which can be either HSLC Certificate or Birth Certificate duly attested by a gazetted officer.
  • Attested copies of certificates in support of educational qualification.
  • Attested copies of caste certificate for reserved category candidates.
  • Self-addressed postage paid envelope of 10 x 4.5" size.

Applications found incomplete and which does not conform to the requisite qualification or found to contain false or misrepresentation shall be rejected. Candidates applying to the above posts should be in sound health both physically and mentally. Person with deformity which is likely to interfere with efficient performance of field duty need not apply to the above recruitment.
