The Assam Higher Secondary Educational Council (AHSEC) has published the routine for the upcoming Higher Secondary Final Examination 2013 to be held in the state. It was earlier announced that the Assam HS Exam 2013 would commence from 2nd January for Old Course and 18th February next year in case of new course but the detailed timetable for the same was not published. However, the council has now made available the detailed timetable for both new and old courses including those of the vocational course [Part II] for all the streams of study.

As usual, it will start off with the subject English for both old and new courses and this theory exam will continue till 13th March 2013. This will be followed by the practical examinations for different subjects as applicable.

SEBA has also announced the HSLC/AHM Exam 2013 Routine recently and as such similar announcement from the council was long awaited by the candidates and their guardians. This is a very good initiative by both SEBA and AHSEC as completing arrangements for all the important events like publishing timetable, issuing admit cards, listing venues and exam centres etc. before 3-4 months from the commencement of the examination will benefit the students to a great extent as they will be able to concentrate more on their preparation.

HS Final Examination Programme 2013 - Old Course

Note: In partial modification of the HS Final Examination 2013 [Old Course] programme published vide memo No.EXB/19(pt)/13/1 dated 8th August 2012, the date and time of the examination for the HS Final Examination 2013 [Old Course] has been rescheduled as noted below considering the holiday list of Govt. Of Assam for the year 2013. All concerned are requested to ignore the programme uploaded earlier and follow the updated and new programme as listed below:-

Like the various reforms that were brought to effect by SEBA for HSLC/AHM, AHSEC is also planning some changes towards improving the syllabus and the courses. It has already introduced the EVS i.e. Environmental Science subject in HS 1st year and NCERT books were also adopted. The council has not stated anything about the date of declaration of Assam HS Exam 2013 Results and whether it would be available through online mode only like HSLC Result or both through online and booklet mode.
