Candidates who are willing to pursue a career in banking related jobs are already aware of the Common Written Examination (CWE) which is conducted by Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) for recruitment in around 19 participating public sector banks. The second edition of the said test i.e. IBPS CWE Examination 2012 is recently announced for the categories of Probationary Officers and Management Trainees and the details are made available regarding the different form and procedures involved. In this connection, it can be mentioned that CWE is held for three categories in general which are that of PO/MT, Specialist Officers and Clerical positions. In this article, we will be highlighting some important details that will help you approach with the registration process and also guide you with all the related links.
Before we start with the details of the announcement, we would like to remind a few facts about IBPS Common Written Examinations. As we already mentioned earlier, 19 public sector banks are participating which are listed below:-
The advantage of this IBPS CWE which started in 2011 for the first time is that it acts as a common test for all recruitment in the above listed banks and based on the score card in this single written test and after fulfilling the eligibility requirements, one can directly participate in GD/PI of the individual banks.
IBPS CWE 2012 Eligibility Criteria and QualificationIn order to apply, you need to fulfill certain criteria which are generally standard requirements in terms of educational qualification and age restriction. First of all, the applicant must be a graduate having the degree from a recognized university or otherwise have any equivalent qualification which is recognized by the Central Government. Moreover, the applicant must be within the age range of 20-30 years as on 1st day of January 2012. It must also be noted that this is the standard requirements for appearing in the written test only and not for recruitment for any job vacancies. The qualified candidates will be able to directly attend the Personal Interview and Group Discussion of any of the participating bank's recruitment based on the fulfillment of the cut-off score set by each bank.
IBPS CWE 2012 Examination Pattern and SyllabusThe examination will be based on objective type having 50 MCQ in each paper allowing a composite time limit of 150 minutes as detailed below. There will also be a descriptive test on various topics of English Composition such as Letter Writing, Precis writing, essays etc and the said paper would carry 25 marks with maximum allowed exam duration of 60 minutes to complete the question.
With respect to the above pattern, the applicant must also be aware that the descriptive part of the question paper will be evaluated for only those candidates who have scored the minimum qualifying marks in the respective objective type papers. Further, there will also be negative markings as penalty for wrong answers and accordingly 0.25 mark will be deducted from that specific question. The input of two answers for the same question will also be regarded as wrong answer and will be treated with negative penalty as mentioned above.
Download IBPS CWE 2012 Challan and Apply OnlineThe registration procedure allows only online application and there are no other modes facilitated by Institute of Banking Personnel Selection. You will need a digital copy of passport size photograph and signature for uploading along with the online application form. This must be prepared beforehand according to the specification as advertised in the official notification. An application fee amounting to Rs.50 is necessary for applicants belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and PWD candidates whereas all other candidates will need to pay Rs.450/- by using either online payment method or offline payment through CBS branches using the system generated challan. For those intending to pay offline, kindly make sure to print the challan form immediately after submitting the application form as changes or editing will not be allowed thereafter.
