Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has issued a central employment notice regarding the recruitment of 58 job positions against a total of 6,449 vacancies available across different cities and states of the country. The numbers of available post are further classified under different categories of reservations and are provided along with the said notification. The designations which are included in this recruitment drive by RRB includes Sr.Section Engineer, Junior Engineer, Senior P-Way Supervisor, Chief Depot Material Superindent and Depot Material Superindent in different departments of work such as IT, Printing Press, Design, Workshop, Telecommunication, Signal, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil and many others.
All candidates who are interested to apply for this job opportunity in Indian Railway may apply before the closing date which is 9th April 2012 except few far-away places where the last date is extended till 24th April 2012. In this regard, they have also mentioned the tentative date of the examinations which is 09/09/2012 and all the RRB will conduct the said examination on the same date as applicable. The application procedure includes both online and offline submission based on the availability in the respective RRB and can be found in their individual websites. The RRB Recruitment 2012 application format is included in the official advertisement and can be found as Annexure 1&2. The applicants will have to fillup the details in the said format with a black or blue color ball pen and they can use either English or Hindi language as per the allowed instructions which are given in the central employment notice.
There is a non-refundable application fee amounting to Rs.60/- for the examination which is applicable for all candidates except those belonging to the category of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, Physically Handicapped, Ex-serviceman, Minorities, Women and all others belonging to the economically backward class where the annual income of the family is not more than Rs.50,000/-. There is no Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Challan applicable and the candidates can pay the fee by using either Demand Draft or IPO.
There are different eligibility criteria for each of the available post and can be found on the attachment enclosed at the bottom of this article. This includes both diploma and degree in various fields of study as relevant to the job position concerned. In some cases, such as Sr.Section Engineer in Printing Press there is a requirement for working experience of 2 years along with other eligibility criteria in terms of age, educational qualification, reservation etc.
In connection with the written examination, be informed that there will be negative markings and one-third of the allotted marks will be deducted for wrong answers. The candidates will be shortlisted as per the selection procedures and then called for verification of original documents. The candidates will be allowed 2 hours for completing around 150 questions in the Railway Recruitment Board Examination 2012 which is scheduled to be held on September this year.
