For all the TET qualified candidates of Assam, be informed that the latest announcement regarding the recruitment of candidates for the post of Teachers in schools of elementary level is issued and it has made available some important details regarding the job position and recruitment procedure. This also includes the availability of vacant post per district, job profile, educational qualification, salary structure and application procedures. This recruitment of successful TET candidates of Assam is to be conducted by the Assam Sarba Siksha Abhijan and the available posts will be offered on contractual basis only.


It is mentioned in the official advertisement of TET recruitment in Assam that there will be a total of 28,224 numbers of vacant post that includes 19,797 in Lower Primary and 8,427 in Upper Primary (2,417 in Science and 6,010 in Arts) category. The district-wise distribution of these posts can be found below.

Generally, this recruitment under Assam Sarba Siksha Abhijan for TET passed candidates will be held for the post of Assistant Teacher in three disciplines i.e. for Lower Primary School, Upper Primary (Science/Mathematics) and Upper Primary (Social Science). An approximate range of salary structure that will be paid to the appointed candidates will range from Rs.14,000/- to Rs.15,200/- depending on the category for which he/she is selected. The general requirement in terms of educational qualification is mentioned as Graduate and TET qualified. Having B.Ed. degree is not mandatory for the Upper Primary category but the same is preferred and candidates who have B.Ed or alternatively a 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education will be given preference. Before we proceed with the rest of the information, we would like to draw your attention to an important fact about this recruitment that the selected candidates will be engaged in rural areas of Assam only as announced in the advertisement. So, all the interested people who have the recommended qualification and eligibility as mentioned above can apply online on or before the last date i.e. 27th February 2012. The applicant has to be a citizen of India and below 38 years of age as on 1st January 2012 so as to be able to apply. Age relaxation of 5 years can be availed by the SC/ST candidates as per the rules.

The candidates can apply using TET Assam Online Application Form that will be made available in the websites www.ssaassam.gov.in or www.tetassam.com. The online application form should be correctly filled-up as any incomplete or invalid forms will be rejected. Candidates will be shortlisted and called for interview at district level which will commence from 1st March upto 18th March 2012. The scrutiny of original documents will also be done along with the interview and the venue for the same will be notified in the notice board of the Office of District Mission Coordinator, SSA. The applicants can opt to choose for three different districts while applying and they have to appear in the Interview/Scrutiny for each district separately on the scheduled date.

It can be mentioned here that although the recruitment will be held for Assistant Teacher on contractual basis, they will be able to avail all the allowances as admissible by the State Government. However, the contractual teacher will be entitled CPF only instead of GPF as per the official announcement. They will also have no claim for appointment under regular vacant position in school or the educational department. They will be asked to sign an agreement before joining the post of Assistant Teacher. All the selected candidates will be engaged in schools that are located in the rural areas of Assam only.
