TET Results Assam 2012 Overview - Official TET Website launched to download results

TET Results in Assam was announced yesterday at evening time and thereby bringing an end to all the suspense and commotion among the candidates as the delay in declaring the results made most of them doubt whether it was just a rumor or true fact. It was already informed earlier that the results can be obtained from the Assam Sarba Siksha Abhijan website at evening but people simply kept browsing from morning onward only to discover that nothing is actually published and were thereby left confused and frustrated. However, as the outcomes of the Teacher Eligibility Test are now available we are here to share a general overview of the results of the very first TET Exam in Assam 2011-12.


It all began with the announcement by Mr Himanta Biswa Sarma, Education and Health Minister, Govt. of Assam that he will be addressing the Press Conference from 04:15PM and the TET Results will also be declared thereafter. The SSA Assam website did not really made it available on the expected time but finally it was uploaded and candidates were able to download it. According to the statistics provided by the authority, 52,722 candidates were able to clear the test out of the total of 3,30,927 candidates who appeared in the examinations.

The top performers in the First TET Exam of Assam are as follows:-
  • Lower Primary:
    • Barnali Deka(Nalbari)
    • Piklu Acharjee(Mariani)
    • Ranjit Chetri (Bokakhat)
  • Upper Primary:
    • Science: Chandan Das(Digboi)
    • Arts: Chini Changmai(Dibrugarh)

The highest marks secured by the above candidates is 132/150 in case of Paper I, 126/150 in Paper II (Science) and 125/150 in case of Paper II (Arts). In the 1st paper, male candidates scored higher with 53.3% as against 46.7% of female candidates. In 2nd paper of Science, success rate for male:female candidates was 71:29 while in Arts female candidates (54.3%) dominated the male counterparts (45.71%). Some really poor performance were reported of many candidates who earlier secured more than 50% marks in HS level but failed to even spell very common words like ZERO, ASSAMESE etc correctly.

Recruitment of Teachers in Assam for TET Qualified

Mr Himanta Biswa Sarma had announced in the press conference that around 30,559 posts of the LP Teachers in the state will be filled up from the 32,212 qualified candidates. He also informed through the social media that 12,000 of them would be recruited soon as regular teachers while rest of the qualified candidates will be eligible for all other recruitment process to be announced in the due course for regular and contractual teachers. He also added that nearly 90,000 teachers will be recruited phase wise in the coming years.

New Official website for TET Assam launched

As you are all aware, all the official announcements and important information regarding TET was earlier provided through the Assam Sarba Siksha Abhijan website and many people complained that the site was not loading properly in various locations. Hence, the authority has now provided a dedicated website for TET related information which now provided the resultsheet to be downloaded. We had also updated our recent article with the download links of TET Assam and many candidates were able to successfully download them. However, you can download compressed version of the resultsheet from the new website.
