Directorate of Economics and Statistics in Assam has advertised for recruitment to 30 vacancies in the state for the post of Sub-Inspector (Statistics) and Field Assistant. Both of the above mentioned job position has 15 post in each category and are mainly field jobs that would require the selected candidates to visit various places to conduct surveys and collect data. Because of this requirement, the applicants who is capable of and willing to travel frequently to different places including villages will be given preference over all other other candidates.


Sub-Inspector of Statistics Recruitment

The suitable candidate for this post is a graduate having the capability to do a lot of traveling to rural areas. The educational qualification is suggested as Graduate in any stream with either of 3 subjects - Economics, Statistics & Mathematics. There is no mention of any percentage requirements in the recruitment notice and hence interested candidate with a degree in Arts/Science/Commerce with any of the above mentioned subjects can directly apply.

If you are interested to know the job profile, then be informed that the Sub-Inspectors of Statistics will be asked to perform socioeconomic surveys on various Development Blocks of villages in Assam. The offered pay scale for this job is Rs.52000-20,200/- including Grade Pay of Rs.3000/- per month.

Recruitment of Field Assistants in DES, Assam

Any interested candidate who has the educational qualification of Matric (H.S.L.C) passed is eligible to serve as Field Assistant and accordingly can apply for their candidature for 15 available post in this category. The main task involved for this job position is to visit different crop fields and find out the yield rate of some major crops being cultivated in the state. As such, the candidate will have to travel regularly to all such places irrespective of any weather conditions throughout the year. The recommended age group is 18-38 years as on 1st January 2011. The scale of pay is same as that of the first job position except the Grade Pay which is defined as Rs.2200/- per month for Field Assistants.
