Apart from the fact that Jahnu Barua is directing this movie, Baandhon has become also popular because it is being produced by the Assam State Film (Finance and Development) Corporation (ASFFDC) which means that it is now a government venture. Be informed that ASFFDC is producing this film nearly eleven years after their previous venture Nishiddha Nodi (2000). They have once again stepped into the industry to help the Assamese Cinema survive from the current lean phases and be able to deliver some quality cinemas.
The muhurat of Assamese Film Baandhon took place at Panjabari (Guwahati) in the Jonakee Complex of Assam State Film Finance and Development Corporation. The ritual involved on occasion of the Muhurat of the movie was done by none other than the Chief Minister of Assam, Mr Tarun Gogoi. There were many other distinguished guest present on the occasion which includes Pranatee Phukan, Bobbeeta Sharma, Shantanu Thakur, Nazreen Ahmed and other film personalities like Nipon Goswami, Pranjal Saikia, Gautam Bora.

We have referred to ASFFDC many times in this article and some of you may be interested in knowing what it is and something about its history or background. So, let's start with a small overview by listing some essential facts below:-

- It exists with the aim to finance and provide loans, grants or subsidies for the production of movies and marketing in India and abroad.
- The first film produced under its collaboration was in the year 2000.
- It has its cultural complex named Jonakee at Guwahati.
- It presented the State Film awards in collaboration with Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Assam on the year 2005, 2007 and 2010.
- It has so far produced 25 feature films in Assamese Language and some of them has also won the National Award.
Star Cast of Assamese Cinema BaandhonWell, there is not much information available as on now regarding the complete list of the cast and crew members of this upcoming movie. However, it is known that Jatin Bora, Jerifa Wahid, Bishnu Khargharia, Bina Patangia, Angshuman Bhuyan and Abatosh Bhuyan will be playing some of the important roles in different characters of the movie. The shooting of the 35mm feature film will commence from 02-01-2012 at different locations in Assam and Mumbai.
There will be no songs in the cinema and only background musics will play its part as far as music is concerned. Jatin Bora will be seen playing a different role than what he has done so far in all his other movies released so far.
Assamese Movie Bandhon, which is said to have a budget of 50 lakhs only is expected to be released towards the month of May-June 2012. Considering the fact that films directed by Jahnu Barua has always turned out to be popular and interesting to watch, the success of this new cinema can be vouched for.
