Among the most searched query about Teacher Eligibility Test in Assam were regarding the Syllabus of TET Assam, eligibility criteria and regarding the application forms and exam schedule. Fortunately, all these information are now made open and people can clarify most of their confusions through the recent announcements. It was earlier decided that the test would be held on the month of November but owing to some inconvenience it is now finalized to be conducted on 04.12.2011 according to the authorities. Accordingly, it is decided that the application forms will be issued during the period of 23rd September 2011 to 10 October 2011 and will be available in around 155 Post Offices in Assam. Among these, there are 10 Postal Offices each in Bongaigaon & Nagaon; 6 each in Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Jorhat, Dhubri, Kokrajhar, Goalpara; 4 each in Tinsukia, Barpeta, Baxa, Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasao, Udalguri & Hailakandi; 5 each in Darrang, Kachar, Karimganj, Guwahati, Morigaon & Dhemaji; 7 each in Sivasagar, Sonitpur & Lakhimpur; 8 nos. in Nalbari and 12 numbers of Post Offices in Kamrup District respectively.
The last date for submission of completed application forms is fixed to be on or before 17th October 2011. Eligible candidates will be able to receive their admit cards on 17th November 2011 whereas the results of TET Exam 2011 will be declared on 23rd day of December 2011 respectively. To ensure that the evaluation of answersheets is being done in order and correctly, the process will be carried out with computers under the supervision and close monitoring of eight reputed educationists. Regarding the eligibility criteria, the candidates for L.P. School Teachers should have scored a minimum 50% aggregate marks in either Arts, Science & Commerce streams of Higher Secondary Exam whereas those intending to appear for M.E. school teacher position should be a graduate in either Arts, Science & Commerce streams and must have minimum 50% score in both H.S. and Graduation examination in order to be considered eligible to apply or appear before the TET Exam 2011 in Assam.
It is also announced that after the announcement of the exam results the authorities will be recruiting as many as 35,000 teachers in the state starting from the month of January 2012 till 31st March 2012. As a relief to many candidates, it is also declared that candidates are exempted of having B.Ed. and B.T. degrees as mandatory requirements till 2015 and that only from the year 2015 onwards it will be considered as an essential requirements of having B.Ed. and B.T. degrees for Teacher Employment under Teacher Eligibility Test.
