Accordingly, the state board will conduct the TET examination which will be an essential qualifications for a candidate to seek employment as a teacher. There are no limits regarding the number of attempts that a candidate can make or avail in order to appear for and qualify in the examination and as such it is allowed for them to attempt for multiple times if they are unable to qualify on a single attempt.
Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) AssamNow all the candidates for teacher post of Assam in any govt. or private schools will need to appear and qualify the TET exam which will be conducted by the state government. Recently the Education Minister of Assam has announced that the Teachers Eligibility Test will an essential qualification for the candidates where they will be considered fit to be selected if he/she obtains atleast 60% of marks. To apply for this test, candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary (HS) Examination with 50% minimum percentage marks.
TET Syllabus Assam - Detailed syllabus still awaitedThough the detailed syllabus for the examination is not published till now, it will be made available within a week or two. It is known that there are vacancy of more than 1 lacs teachers job in different govt. schools in Assam for which the said test will start to be effective from September 2011. An overview of the syllabus that is set by the NCTE for the said test will include around 5 subjects which comprises of Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics and Env. Studies. There will be approximately about 30 nos. of objective multiple choice question and all other questions will carry one mark each. The time duration for this entrance test is said to be 1 hour 30 minutes.
Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) examination patternThis test is supposed to cover two papers and both the papers will carry 150 marks each. All the questions asked in each of the paper will be of multiple choice objective type. Both the papers are dependent on the levels of the teaching which are as follows:—
- Paper I is meant for those teachers who have been teaching from class 1 to 4th standard
- Paper II is meant for those teachers that are teaching from class 6 to 7th standard.
- Finally, Paper I & II are both meant for those teachers teaching from class 1 to class 7.
