Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University (KKHSOU) is a regional open university which is existing in the state of Assam and Northeast region from the year 2006 and was established under the Act (XXXVII of 2005) by the Assam Legislative Assembly on the year 1995. It is one of the first such university of the region and is known to provide many different categories of courses and career oriented programmes.
